My move to my new studio came at a perfect time for many reasons. The obvious...I was no longer able to use my current space and needed a miracle. Well ... like many things in life ... things fell into place and my prayers were answered after a lot of self doubt and thoughts of giving up. I don't know how I got so lucky to have a space that not only is Hello Charlie's new home, it continues to inspire me and has pushed me into doing more of the photography I love to do.
The industrial look of the space has so many nooks and crannies I'm constantly brainstorming how I can use each and every one of them. I love pattern, detail, color, anything vintage ... so if you could see the space in person I was working with before (while it had the most amazing natural light you could ever ask for) ... you would understand why my brain is now on overload with ideas.
I finally decided to take Charlie up to the elevator shaft area in the new studio and whoa. The light from above in this tiny space was so unexpected. I love how these turned out and I love even more that I was able to capture her personality in these images. She is so reserved, thoughtful, and creative and I love watching her just talk softly to me and tell me stories while I take photos of her. These are some of my favorites we have done in a long time. The time we spend just the two of us is something I truly cherish and look forward to every week with her.
