Photo Mama Workshop

Hello Charlie offers a workshop for moms, dads, and grandparents that are wanting to learn how to use their DSLR cameras. The course is taught via a facebook group for four weeks so you have plenty of time to read and do the assignments on your own schedule. Emily, the owner and Creative Director of Hello Charlie, will be there to guide you and answer all of your questions. She gives you 4 assignments that help you learn the functions of your camera and how to capture images that you have been dying to get of your little ones.

Photo Mama Workshop

Jan. 18 - Feb. 15  Photo Mama Workshop - beginner level

June 12 - July 10, Photo Mama Workshop - beginner level

Sept. 25 - Oct. 23, Photo Mama Workshop - beginner level

What will we learn about?

  1. Manual focus. Are you using your camera in Auto mode?! Yeah, we all have done this but trust me, nothing is better than manual mode and I am going to show you how to use and actually understand it!
  2. Light. The most important thing in photography. We will dive into natural light, how to position yourself and your subjects and what settings you can use to conquer indoor and outdoor photography.
  3. Composition. Yes...we will learn how to get CREATIVE! I will teach you some of my favorite composition rules to stop taking snap shots and start creating art.
  4. Photo Journal Your Life. The reason most of us are taking photos are to capture memories. We will learn together how to capture memories, be the amazing mom-tographer you want to be AND still have time to enjoy those moments.

What do you need for the course? A DSLR camera, your camera's manual (most can be found online if you don't have the book anymore) AND about 1-2 hours of free time a week. Seriously that is it. I post daily in our group to keep you going throughout the week, but you can catch up anytime you want. That's the beauty of this class is it is designed the mom with the crazy life. Dads too. Whoever is wanting to master the fancy camera.

What level of photography do I need to be at? Do you have a camera? That's all you need to know prior to the class. Students start out knowing absolutely nothing and some have a little bit of knowledge, some just know they want and like to take great photos.

What is my investment? The 4 week course costs $149 per student. You will receive lifetime access to the group and the information we discuss there. You will also receive a packet at the end you can download and save to reference for future practicing.

How do I sign up? Are you ready to commit and start taking better photos of your family? Contact us via this form and we will send you a paypal invoice for the registration fee. Once that is paid we will send you a link to the course on facebook and then you are ready for Sept. 25th to get here!
